NEMCRC at East Fortune

Dave, Derek and Robbie out for this second meeting in the 2011 North East club. Three riders and through the weekend all riders got podium places in the very changable weather, rain then dry two minutes later and high winds all weekend. Credit to the North East club and all riders as the weekend could've easily been cancelled if the red flags started flying. Thankfully everyone took the difficult conditions in to consideration and the full program of events was completed.

Dave's weekend and being the one with the caravan Dave doubled up as team chef and catered some good bacon rolls for lunch each day. As the weekend progressed Dave took the number 151 ZXR to his personal best knocking six seconds off his total race time. To top it off also got his first podium taking third place in the first of the Sunday races. The improving rider almost made it two podiums but a flat batter in the last race of the weekend took Dave from third to retirement. A charged battery and better condition and we'll be expecting another improvement in time and finished after this weekends' results from 151.

Derek's weekend went very well. Didn't beat any personal best times but did get a podium every race finishing in second, third, first, second and second respectively in the F400 class. Could have potentially improved but a dead battery at the end of each day meant the bike wasn't pulling as it should have for the last couple of laps.

Robbie's weekend was a bit mixed with some up's in the form of a third in the F600 class and seventh in the open class. On the down side there were a few issues over the weekend from the R6, the tyre choice/pressure being incorrect (proving run flats are doable, just not good for racing) and a clutch issue causing another retirement. But even with these issues Robbie was able to take 161 to a personal best of 103.3.

Many thanks to Brian, Colin, Dave, Jackie and Jimmy for helping out over the weekend and Rob for the great photo's.

future sposors

Without sponsors teams like ours would fail to survive due to the running costs involved. We are seeking sponsors at all levels from £50 for a season to whatever you wish!!

Dependant on your financial input in return you get you or your companies logo on the bikes as well as complimentary tickets for the events with friendly hospitality (Ray makes a mean coffee!) and best of all you get to see close up what goes on behind the scenes.

If you are a biker then we could assist with bike set up and even provide a bike for trackdays if required. (Terms and conditions apply!).
